Every region is a new experience.

Zittau Mountains Nature Park
The Zittau Mountains Nature Park in southeastern Saxony is one of Germany's most pristine regions. This low mountain range is characterized by rugged sandstone cliffs, deep green forests, clear streams, and gentle mountain ridges that blend harmoniously into the surroundings. A diverse range of habitats can be found within a very small area, including rare plants such as wild orchids, arnica, and cotton grass, as well as protected animal species, including the eagle owl, lynx, and black woodpecker.
Nature reveals its most beautiful side in every season: In spring, the meadows bloom, in summer, shady forest paths invite you to relax, in autumn, the leaves glow in vibrant colors, and in winter, the landscape transforms into a tranquil, snowy world. Far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, visitors here experience true peace, clean air, and an impressive variety of colors, shapes, and sounds.
Our holiday home is located in the heart of this special environment – ideal for anyone who wants to experience nature, breathe deeply, and relax.
This is also the region where nature becomes a training area.
surrounding area
The Umgebindeland in the Zittau Mountains is a culturally and historically significant region, which is characterized above all by its unique Umgebinde houses.
This particular style of construction originated in the 17th and 18th centuries and is particularly common in Upper Lusatia, neighboring Bohemia and parts of Lower Silesia.
The Umgebinde houses combine elements of Slavic log construction with Central European half-timbering techniques: The solid ground floor supports a wooden log room, stabilized by a surrounding support beam – the "Umgebinde." These houses were originally built by linen weavers and craftsmen, combining living and working areas under one roof.
Today, many of the buildings, often over 200 years old, have been lovingly restored and bear witness to the craftsmanship and lifestyles of past generations.
The region surrounding the Zittau Mountains is unique in the world in the density and diversity of this historic architectural style. In villages like Großschönau, Waltersdorf, and Bertsdorf-Hörnitz, time seems to have stood still—ideal for anyone seeking to experience history, tradition, and rural charm.
