Weitsicht

Experience nature. Find peace. Moments for yourself.

Welcome

…it's beautiful here in every season…

Families, different generations, friends, sports enthusiasts, nature lovers,

Experience the beauty of the Zittau Mountains together.

This special region in the border triangle with the Czech Republic and Poland is characterized by friendly people, traditional craftsmanship and an inviting landscape.

Enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a panoramic view of the Lausche. Once the morning dew has dried, you can hike, cycle, go summer tobogganing, swim in the lake or outdoor pool, or ski. In the evening, enjoy a sauna session in our holiday home or wind down the day by the fire on the meadow...

Do you enjoy cooking? Gather with friends or family and cook and eat together at the large family table indoors or on the terrace surrounded by nature.

Herrenwalde lies at the foot of the Lausche mountain. It is the highest peak (793 m) in the Zittau Mountains. From your holiday home, you can watch the mountain emerge from the fog, bathe in bright sunshine, or watch over the landscape from a snow-capped peak.

In the renovated half-timbered house from 1838, you are invited to play billiards in the warmth of the stove.

Firewood for a cozy fire in the oven or fire bowl is available for you.

The holiday home with the half-timbered house and the spacious grounds is rented only to one booker.

Welcome to Herrenwalde in the easternmost mountain range of Germany.

The holiday home

Our favorite place-your retreat,

Experience a combination of modernity and tradition in the wood-inspired new building from 2025 and in the half-timbered house from 1838, in an idyllic location with a view of the Lausche in the Zittau Mountains Nature Park.

The 2500 square meter meadow property offers plenty of space for you, your friends, and your family, for different generations. The holiday home, with its half-timbered house and spacious grounds, is rented to a single booker. The landlord does not live on the property.

Cook in the light-filled kitchen-diner, while the comfortable window seat frames the view of the orchard, the Lausche, and the field.

Gather around the large dining table for a special dinner and be touched by the bright, simple design and muted colors.

The partially covered terrace is perfect for a hearty breakfast together, relaxing with a book, or having a barbecue. Perhaps you'll spot a deer striding across the field in front of you in the morning or evening light.

The sauna with relaxation room on the first floor, with access to the spacious, south-facing roof terrace, provides a relaxing end to an active day. The terrace catches the sun even in the winter months and offers an attractive space to enjoy the view of the surrounding fields and mountains.

In the renovated half-timbered house from 1838, you will sit by the cast iron stove, hear the wood crackling, or play billiards with your friends.

From the four bedrooms, you can also enjoy mountain views of the Lausche and the surrounding area. Two stylish bathrooms and a guest toilet combine design and functionality.

Let your thoughts wander as you sit by the fire pit on the large lawn, watch your children play soccer, or listen to the crickets in the evening, hear the quail, sit together by the fire, and experience the silence.

Hiking, running, swimming, cycling, skiing—explore trails that will bring you closer to the beauty and diversity of this special region.

Here you can combine nature experiences with pleasant living to find a balance between comfort and a sense of nature.

Architecture and location

The detached architect-designed house "Weitsicht" (built in 2025) accommodates up to 8 people and combines modern living comfort with a unique sense of closeness to nature. With 150 m² of living space, facing south, you can enjoy views of the Lausche mountain (793 m) from almost every room. Nestled in expansive meadows at the edge of fields, the house is located in the heart of the Zittau Mountains Nature Park – a place for peace, relaxation, and inspiration.

The house impresses with its clear, modern architecture: a larch wood facade, a timber-framed upper floor, exposed concrete in the basement, and a seamless concrete floor that lends each room a special touch.

A spacious, covered entrance area connects the new building with a lovingly renovated half-timbered house from 1838. There, the rustic log cabin with its wood-burning stove, games table, and billiards invites you to linger—a piece of history you can touch.
