Weitsicht

Experience nature. Find peace. Moments for yourselves.

Welcome

…it's beautiful here in every season…

Families, different generations, friends, sports enthusiasts, and nature lovers meet here.

Experience the beauty of the Zittau Mountains together.

This special region in the border triangle with the Czech Republic and Poland is characterized by friendly people, a tradition of craftsmanship and an inviting landscape.

Enjoy breakfast on the terrace with panoramic views of the Lausche mountain; once the morning dew has dried, you can go hiking, cycling, summer tobogganing, swimming in the lake or outdoor pool, skiing, and in the evening, a sauna session awaits you in our holiday home or a relaxing end to the day by the fire in the meadow…

Do you enjoy cooking? Get together with friends or family and cook and eat together at the large family table in the house or on the terrace surrounded by nature.

Herrenwalde lies at the foot of the Lausche mountain. It is the highest peak (793 m) in the Zittau Mountains. From your holiday home, you can watch the mountain emerge from the fog, lie bathed in brilliant sunshine, or see a snow-covered summit watching over the landscape.

In the renovated half-timbered house from 1838, they are invited to play billiards by the warmth of the stove.

Firewood for a cozy fire in the stove or fire bowl is ready for you.

The holiday home with its half-timbered house and spacious grounds is rented to only one guest.

Welcome to Herrenwalde in the easternmost mountain range of Germany.

The holiday home

Our favorite place - your retreat,

Experience a blend of modernity and tradition in the wood-inspired new building (2025) and the half-timbered house (1838), in an idyllic location with panoramic views of the Lausche mountain in the Zittau Mountains Nature Park.

The 2500 sq m meadow provides ample space for you, your friends, and your family, for different generations. The holiday home, with its traditional timber-framed house and generous grounds, is rented to only one guest at a time. The owner does not live on the property.

Cook in the light-flooded eat-in kitchen; the comfortable window seat frames the view of the orchard, the Lausche mountain, and the field.

Gather around the large dining table for a special dinner and let yourself be touched by the bright, simple design and muted colors.

The partially covered terrace is perfect for a leisurely breakfast together, relaxing with a book, or having a barbecue. You might even spot a deer strolling across the field in the morning or evening light.

The sauna with relaxation room on the first floor, and with access to the spacious, south-facing roof terrace, offers a relaxing end to an active day. Even in the winter months, the terrace catches the sun and provides an inviting space to enjoy the views of the surrounding fields and mountains.

In the renovated half-timbered house from 1838, you will sit by the cast iron stove, hear the wood crackling, or play billiards with your friends.

You can also enjoy mountain views of the Lausche and the surrounding area from the four bedrooms. Two stylish bathrooms and a guest WC combine design and functionality.

Let your thoughts wander freely as you sit by the fire pit in the large meadow, watch your children play football, or listen to the crickets in the evening, hear the quail, sit together by the fire, and experience silence.

Hiking, running, swimming, cycling, skiing – explore trails that will bring you closer to the beauty and diversity of this special region.

Here you can combine nature experiences and comfortable living to find a balance between comfort and a feeling of nature.

Architecture and location

The detached architect-designed house "Weitsicht" (built in 2025) offers space for up to 8 people and combines modern living comfort with a unique proximity to nature. With 150 m² of living space, facing south, you can enjoy views of the Lausche mountain (793 m) from almost every room. Nestled in expansive meadows at the edge of a field, the house lies in the heart of the Zittau Mountains Nature Park – a place for peace, relaxation, and inspiration.

The house impresses with its clear, modern architecture: a larch wood facade, a timber-framed upper floor, exposed concrete in the basement, and a seamless troweled concrete floor that gives each room a special touch.

A spacious, covered entrance area connects the new building with a lovingly restored half-timbered house from 1838. There, the rustic log cabin with wood stove, games table and billiards invites you to linger – a piece of history you can touch.
